Good morning friends! Time to wipe the sleepy dust from your eyes! Man's Adventure proudly begins your broadcast day...
I never thought I'd be smurfing a smurf as smurfcake! But here it is...this drawing is in response to some incredibly lovely drawings by artist Chris Wahl over at a site I frequent. It's a (mostly) nice community of artists posting old and new art and getting feedback from other artists. I posted Handy Smurf in this thread. Check it all out! There's some beautiful art by a gal named Jess who posts under the name Little Egypt. I love the quality of her linework and colours. Her men remind me a little of the guys drawn by Maurice Vellekoop, which is a good thing.

p.s. Just as a side note, I've got requests for a Collossus and a Captain Britain. Andrew and Matt, I didn't want you guys thinking I'd forgotten!

Smurfs should not inspire feelings of lust. And yet...
Thanks for keeping me in mind! It occurs to me, if I want to buy the Colossus pick, should I make it a formal commission? Do you have rates for that sort of thing? I don't want to be cheeky.
By the way, do you have an e-mail address? I've been wanting to drop you a line - or you can mail me at andrew at ninthart.com.
Always liked Smurfs when I was a kid, now I know why.
thanks for remembering j, i'll forgive you if you keep giving us hot smurfs
Ha ha! You guys are gross! Sexualizing the Smurfs is just wrong!
;)
Actually, I realize that I chose to draw the one Smurf in overalls where all other male smurfs are shirtless.
Andrew - I saw Butcher this weekend and we'll aim to hang out when you're in town. I don't have rates, yet, for commissions. Let me think on it a bit and get back to you. If you have a particular image in mind throw it at me and that might help me set a price...?
Alex - Thanks for some daily beefcake on your blog.
In a possibly odd coincidence you might want to check out Alex' blog, Matt. His most recent post is about Captain Britain. I always sorta liked the drunken lout too. Especially as Alan Davis drew him.

Hi J! I hope we do get to hang out - I'd love to meet you.
What I'm looking for is a nice, sexy beefcake shot - nothing smutty, because good beefcake should tease, as you clearly know only too well! I've been trying for ages to get my artist friends to do me a good Colossus, and they've made some great attempts, but they're all so heterosexual! :) I guess what I'm really after is something inspired by that wonderful Leonardi Colossus from UXM 231, with the aforementioned little orange shorts!

Petey's a tortured romantic, and he's the sort of guy who absolutely doesn't know how hot he is, and I think those are the things I really like about him. Do you think you can pull all that together? :)
Hmm.. he sure is smurfy. I wonder if he's into smurfing, or getting smurfed? :P
that's so funny j. yeah i spent a lot of time im my bedroom as a kid looking at my alan davis issues of excaliber. alana always seemed to draw those bulges a lil bigger than other artists.
That's hilarious... i'd never thought of the smurfs in that way... maybe i should
Andrew - Whew! That's a tall order...but I'll see what I can do.
Luc - With that hammer I think he's into smurfing. Though I suppose if the right smurf were to come along...
Matt - Same here. I've been weeding out some of my older comics and the Alan Davis Excalibur stuff is always in the "to keep" pile. Too much lovely art.
Brenton - I think it's still probably wrong to think of smurfs in "that way". But to each their own ;) BTW love your blog sub-heading. I always thought condom packaging should come with that warning!

Heck, J, just make him look really hot in a pair of athletic shorts and I'll be happy. :)
What a big 'ole hunk o' blue he is!
Great choice making it Handy Smurf...although I'm sure Vanity Smurf would've been hilarious, too. But Handy's definitely more butch.
I wonder if his sweat is blue? I'd like to find out.
