Fuzzy Friends!

Summer in Toronto and I'm already sunburned. The humidity, and stickiness, has yet to begin but the men are definitely out in shirtless glory. I drew this a few weeks back when I saw a a guy in a hoody without a shirt and was instantly turned on. Already my sketchbook is bursting with hastily, and discretely, drawn men -- drawn in haste lest I lose the moment. These rough sketches I will turn into more finished pieces before the summer is out. Certainly there is no shortage of inspiration!

What a way to kick off the season! Your subject here is incredibly hot. You've captured that tantalizing moment when a man bares his body to the world. Like a creature breaking free from it's chrysalis. Here's to a summer of studly guys emerging like butterfies and drawn as only you can Bone. Thanks!!!

There's something about that illustration that I find even cuter than usual.

Musclsvg - I do enjoy a hairy caterpillar ;)

Xavier - Thanks, man. It's an image I can't get out of my head now.

Debbie - Ell oh ell!

François - Thank you, sir. Could it be the simple dots for eyes? I believe this is one of the only blondes I've drawn, as well.

best,
j.

Yeah, it might be the dots. The character just looks happy.

J,

Love the pic, as always! I'm going to be up in Toronto for Leather Pride in August; are you going to be around? I'd love to buy you a drink and watch you sketch hot leathermen! Please let me know!

(Also, I love the work you did in the Retroactive '70s WW, especially the cover! Would that happen to be for sale through Albert Moy, by any chance? Didn't see it on his site, but it may be early...)

I just found this today and I gotta say "congratulations!" on how this "simple" sketch achieved such powerful charm. You say you are not used to draw blondes, but you quickly made an alpha-male blonde! That's it, the dark and dynamic chest hair lines, the "stuck" eyebrow-eye and nostril-mouth complexes, the non-frontal, "accidental" pose all contrasting with the light of his blond, rebel hair. All powered by the COUNTERLIGHT that is almost the same shape as his own profile. The composition of greens (the big circle frames the face by its center, while the sexy hood frames his furry torso.

I almost forgot - the dot eyes remark the idea of a non-portrait anonymous, that means, it's sexier when he's a perfect stranger.

Jay, I needed to honour your classic drawing:

Hope you don't get mad at me for not asking you first.
