While jumping around on the internet recently, procrastinating from my actual work, I came across (pun, if you like) a gorgeous photo of the amazing Francois Sagat. What caught my eye most about the photo wasn't the fishnet 'pants' or leather gloves but the awesome blocks of shadowed muscle projecting from Sagat's back! It looked like the face of a cliff and I just had to draw it.
Sagat takes such incredible pictures. I mean that he himself takes great photos but also when he works with a photographer, Sagat seems to know his own body well enough to strike terrific poses that show off his anatomy to best advantage. Certainly he's made a living doing 'nude' work, shall we say ;) but I've seen 'fashion' photo shoots with him that would be at home in Vogue or Vanity Fair. Check out his blog...I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the artistry in his photos.

Sweet work. I always love your bare chested muscular dudes.
I do have to say when I saw the title, I thought it may have been you doing the Street Fighter Character Sagat (http://tinyurl.com/sfsagat). I would love to see your take on popular pop culture characters like that.
gorgeous
Pedro - Though I'm not a video game player I see the appeal in characters like Sagat! I remember Guile having a beefy body.
Patricio - Thank you!

That IS a rather cute butt
Wow. Francois has never looked better! I'm glad you procrastinated a bit :)
GrifterWolf - I do my best to capture the reality :)
Jeff - Thanks.
I read a bit of Francois' bio and learned that he used to work in fashion and likes to draw. That explains an awful lot. No wonder his own photos are so darned artistic!

Boy! Talk about good getting better. I've always enjoyed photos of Sagat, but I think I like your take on him even better than his actual photos. The squared jaw and the angularity of his shoulders and back in contrast to the curvature of his ass and the sweep of his quads is fantastic.
The penetrating scowl and what seems to be a whip in his hand make him look like real rough trade. He could be the overseer of masons and laborers forced to build a pagan temple in the middle of a steaming jungle. Or, the master of a crew of galley slaves that must row to a punishing drumbeat or feel his lash. However the best casting would be as Lord Rim'ah's arch nemisis. A brute with strength equal to the primitive hero that seeks to capture, conquer and enslave the mighty savage so that he will have power over all the domain and the lengendary Lord Rim'ah.
I agree with musclsvg! Sagat's photos are alive and beautiful, but you bring so much to the drawing that it takes on even more life and character. This would be awsome Inked.
Musclsvg - Wow! Thank you! Your scenarios are all awesome. You make me wish I were a faster artist that I could draw up all those scenes right away. Rimah probably could use just that type of nemesis. Someone to challenge his place in the jungle. Great job, musclsvg!
Chubtoons - I'm blushing. Thanks so much. I definitely plan on inking and coloring this bad boy.
have a great day, guys.
